FAQ about water distiller and home water distillation

How does Purater home water distiller work?

The unit uses the natural process of evaporation and condensation exactly like the system that nature uses to product rain and snow. PURATER is filled with ordinary tap water which is heated in the 100% Stainless Steel vaporizing chamber until it becomes sterilized steam. The purified steam vapor is then condensed back into its original liquid water state, except it has left the chemicals, toxins, pollutants and other contaminants all behind. They have been removed in a way that can only be accomplished in this manner. No other process of water filtration is as effective.

Are Purater water distillers easy to use?

Yes, they are very easy to use. No plumbing is required for our one gallon units. Simply lift off the top, fill it up, plug it in and turn it on. It turns off automatically after one full gallon of pure water has been made.

Does distillation takes out beneficial minerals?

Distillation, when combined with carbon filtration, will kill and remove virtually 100% of bacteria, viruses, cysts, as well as, heavy metals, radio nuclides, organics, inorganic, and particulates. And yes, it will remove minerals, which fall under volatile organic contaminants or VOC's. All of our minerals are derived from what we eat fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, grains, nuts, and dairy products. To get the minerals in water, one would have to drink 676 8-ounce glasses of tap water to obtain the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of calcium. That person would have to drink 1,848 8-ounce glasses to get RDA of magnesium, 848 8-ounce glasses to get RDA of iron, and 168,960 8-ounce glasses to obtain the RDA of phosphorus. It seems insane to even think about drinking that much water. Most people can't even drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day that is widely touted by health experts.

How much electricity does purater water distiller use?

PURATER uses about 3 kilowatts per 4 litter of water. Based on the national average electrical cost of 8.48 cents per kilowatt hour, this equates to approximately 5 cents per litter.

What makes a Purater distillation system better than expensive reverse osmosis systems?

The unit uses the natural process of evaporation and condensation exactly like the system that nature uses to product rain and snow. PURATER is filled with ordinary tap water which is heated in the 100% Stainless Steel vaporizing chamber until it becomes sterilized steam. The purified steam vapor is then condensed back into it”s original liquid water state, except it has left the chemicals, toxins, pollutants and other contaminants all behind. They have been removed in a way that can only be accomplished in this manner. No other process of water filtration is as effective.
